Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What ores can the DRX intelligent sorting machine mainly sort?
The DRX intelligent dry sorter is based on X-ray imaging technology and intelligent recognition algorithms. It is suitable for dry sorting of various ores such as coal, kaolinite, fluorite, aluminum ore, antimony ore, lead-zinc ore, and copper ore. It is particularly suitable for replacing traditional manual or heavy medium sorting and can also handle low-grade ores well.
Q2: What is the processing capacity of the DRX intelligent dry sorter?
Processing capacity is directly related to the feed size and the proportion of different particle sizes. Larger particle sizes yield greater throughput. This website lists the parameters for the DRX-100 model, with a belt width of 1 meter and a belt speed of 2.75 meters per second. Its sorting capacity ranges from 50 to 200 tons per hour. Different models of DRX sorters have capacities ranging from 50 to 400 tons per hour, and can be customized to meet the mine's actual production capacity needs.
Q3: What installation conditions are required for DRX sorting equipment?
The DRX dry sorter (including the vibrating feeder, also known as the spreader) has dimensions of 10 meters long, 1.3 meters wide, and 2.2 meters high. Its small size allows it to be installed in place of existing hand-sorting belts in coal washing plants, replacing manual sorting. The equipment is available in mobile and fixed (platform) versions, equipped with a 380V industrial power supply and a supporting conveyor system. It is internet-connected and requires no water or chemicals, conserving resources and protecting the environment.
Q4: Is the maintenance cost of DRX hardware high?
Not high. Sorting belts wear out, radiation sources reach the end of their life, and dust bags expire and need to be replaced. Other hardware components generally do not damage. Our X-ray detection cards and nozzle solenoid valves have been working continuously for more than two years in sorting production and remain intact.
Q5: Why are the sorting software parameters higher than those of the equipment?
DRX sorting software is the core of intelligent sorting. The sorting software's processing capacity parameters include sorting for different belt widths, belt speeds, and mineral particle sizes. The dry sorter equipment specifications are listed based on a device with a 1-meter belt width and a 2.75-meter-per-second belt speed. The appropriate hardware equipment can be selected and adjusted according to production needs. For example, if you want to directly sort large-particle ore of 350-600 mm without crushing, the hardware equipment will need to be reinforced to accommodate the sorting of large-particle ore. If installation space is limited and a higher processing capacity is required, without increasing the belt width and ensuring production quality, we can currently help you increase the sorting belt speed from 2.75 m/s to 3.1 m/s, which can increase processing capacity by 12.7%.
Q6: Is the DRX sorting software interface complicated to operate?
The graphical user interface requires minimal operation, with only simple operations required for nozzle testing and changing the separation parameters for different minerals. The software automatically turns the source on and off and displays the separation status with one-touch start and stop. Operators can begin work after a short training period and easily adjust parameters.
Q8: Can the original dry sorter be upgraded if its sorting speed is slow?
Yes. The original dry sorter's belt operated at a low speed of 1.6-1.8 m/s due to the processing capabilities of the original sorting software. By upgrading the sorting software and increasing the belt speed to 2.75 m/s, the dry sorter's processing capacity per unit time can be increased by 1.5-1.7 times, while also significantly improving sorting accuracy.
Q9: The nozzle solenoid valve of the original dry sorter is always broken. Can it be improved?
Yes. First, the sorting belt speed of the dry sorter was upgraded to 2.75 m/s and the sorting software was upgraded. This increased material speed on the sorting belt significantly reduced nozzle air consumption. Then, the solenoid valve nozzle box was rationally modified to ensure that the solenoid valve was virtually indestructible, significantly reducing maintenance costs and improving sorting speed and accuracy.
